A brief discussion at the Manteca City Council meeting on Jan. 17 concerning the council members taking a summer recess quickly fell short as council members Mike Morowit and Richard Silberman were both against it.
After a quick chit-chat took place and a vote was taken all council members jumped on the band wagon express.
However the other recess known as the “sight-seeing vacation trip coming up in April to Washington, D.C., at taxpayers’ expense was not mentioned. How convenient.
Council members Morowit and Silverman both have something else in common as they like to promote things when the council meeting draws near closing. The previous meeting Silverman promoted an American Legion social event while last meeting Morowit promoted the upcoming Super Bowl Omelet Breakfast staged by Manteca Rotary.
Perhaps both should resign and go into the promoting business after their next trip to DC. Perhaps they can have lunch with President Trump.
Councilman Gary Singh is moving up the ladder fast. First he was appointed mayor pro temp and now he’s cooking for the omelet breakfast. That should make Gary “Head Chef” Singh feel right at home.
