Democrats should call themselves socialists

Editor Manteca Bulletin,
Maybe in the interest of transparency the Democratic Party should consider changing its name to the socialist party now that we see the party agenda in the first hundred days. After all the socialist party in Europe, after losing to capitalists, are considering changing their name to the democratic party. The question really is if this entire agenda is really good for America why is there so much deception? Why does the democrat party fight so hard to cloak the bills it is rushing through congress in order to take more and more control of the government, if socialism is so good for us?

While the democrats are considering changing the party name, they need to seriously change the name of “spread the wealth” to “spread the poverty”. Just look at the socialist countries, are there a ton of wealthy people? It’s more truth to say the countries are in fact spreading poverty. This is why socialism never works and why campaign promises are just words.

This move to nationalized health care is just as deceptive. It is just another means of controlling the lives of the people. In the end the bureaucrats will decide if your treatment is worth giving to you, based on your remaining life expectancy or the amount of money available in the budget. Just ask speaker Pelosi and she would probably tell you as she said about abortion that it is a way of saving money for the government by reducing the population.

It is time for Americans to wake up and see through all the clouds of “feel good” change is not always for the best. Socialism has never worked and, in fact, Thomas Jefferson warned us over two hundred years ago, “democracy will cease when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” If there is any doubt here is more: my reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. Maybe that is why this nation was not founded as a socialist nation in the first place.
