Tuesday a little after 6 p.m., a girl and a small dog were attacked by a pit bull on South Powers. A few of the neighbors saw the entire event, including me. It was horrible to see the small dog in the jaws of this pit bull. 

 I must say Manteca has some heroes, as a half dozen passersby stopped to help and one guy even took on the pit bull. As bad as the situation was, it is nice to know that people come together to help a girl and dog in distress. The dog was impounded by police. Thank God!
