If youre killing cats please think about owners

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

It has come to my attention that there are neighbors in Manteca who are catching neighborhood cats—tempting them with food and trapping them in cages.  Some take the cats to the pound; others poison the cats or drop them off in the country.

We lost two cats in the last month.  One was a house cat, who accidentally was let out, and the other was a cat who was out at night only for a few hours.  Neither would stray far from home.  We tried to find the cat, but none of our neighbors saw the cats.  My daughters are heart sick—they’ve lost very dear companions.

I understand not everyone is a cat person and some cats can be a nuisance.  However, if you are a person who is trapping or killing cats, please think about how the owner feels, not knowing what has happened to a dear friend.
