DeleteJacari Thompson intercepted a Liberty Ranch pass  on the game’s opening drive and returned it for a Lathrop touchdown as the junior varsity Spartans posted a 26-9 non-league road win on Friday night.

 

In the second quarter Alex Valencia scored on 39-yard run and Diego Chavez hit Keenan Bryant-Donatelli with a 45-yard pass to set up a 1-yard scoring plunge by Chavez. Valencia 9 (nine carries, 127 yards) scored on a 52-yard run in the second half.

 

Thompson and Inkjot Thind each had an interception for Lathrop. Rob Luckett had eight tackles,  Brian Folger six and Valencia and Chavez five each.

Manteca 33,

Wilcox-Santa Clara 0



Dakari Charles was a two-way standout for the Buffaloes on Friday, scoring three touchdowns on 111 yards rushing – on just four carries – and keeping the athletic Chargers receivers in check all night.

 

The three-pronged Manteca ground game of 387 yards was led by Marcus Rivas with 10 carries for 145 yards and Darion Kitson scored twice, gaining 110 yards on eight carries



Ronaldo Tijero had five tackles and along with Charles shut down the Wilcox receivers.

 

Weston Ranch 23,

Franklin 12

 

Malik Pruitt scored an offensive and defensive touchdown for the Cougars.

 

Issac Owen added a rushing touchdown for Weston Ranch and Phillip Strother a 40-yard return on an interception.

 

East Union 12,

Orestimba 12

 

Alex Martel ran for 74 yards and a touchdown for the Lancers and Jack Weaver had a touchdown pass on 96 yards passing.

 

Joel Melena had two sacks for East Union and Bailey Simons and Tyler Reese had one each.
