ROUNDUP: Lancers stifle McNair

East Union used a balanced attack to boat race McNair 43-7 Friday night in varsity non-league football action in Stockton.

Dylan Lee (16 of 24 passing, 308 yards; six carries, 72 yards) threw for two touchdowns to Ace Avelar (five receptions, 92 yards) and one to Nickolas Luna (five receptions, 152 yards). Lee, Emilio Perez Jr. (21 carries, 130 yards) and David Flores each added a rushing touchdown.

David Flores made six tackles for the Lancers. Rafael Espinosa Carson Sanders and Ivan Alvarez added five stops apiece and Blake Mount made three tackles.

The Lancers (2-1) travel to Atwater (1-2) on Friday.

“I thought our defense played well,” East Union coach Mike Kuhlenz said. “Offensively, we will need to play much better to compete with Atwater this week.”

 

Junior varsity

Lathrop 40, Weston Ranch 8

Jayden Tiger made three touchdowns for the host Spartans.

Tiger ran for 112 yards on 16 carries with scoring carries of 5, 15 and 25 yards. Ramon Rivas (13 carries, 151 yards) added a two-yard touchdown run, Chris Ramos scored from 38 yards out Manuel Flores chipped in a 1-yard score.

Both teams ran the same amount of plays – 38 – with Lathrop racking up 324 yards to just 38 for the Cougars.

Michael Adams led the Spartans with eight tackles. Humza Abibi added four stops with three apiece for Andre Mughar, Christiano Erazo and Casyn Hopping.

 

Manteca 58, Cosumnes Oaks 0

The Buffaloes used a balanced attack to defeat the host Wolfpack in Elk Grove.  

Julian Mondcada led the Manteca offense with 88 yards on just two carries with a 70-yard touchdown run. Nikolas Ellks (three carries, 55 yards) scored on runs of 15 and 28 yards, and Preston Smith scored on 2- and 3-yard runs. Ruben Moreno added a 27-yard touchdown and Johan Peringelil scored from 7 yards out.

The Buffaloes defense scored three times. Matthew Meninga recovered a fumble for a touchdown with Josiah Sagapulu netting one safety and Damariae Long (three tackles) and Alijah Marshal sharing a safety.

Noah Alejandro made four tackles and Nickolas Garcia made an interception and deflected two passes.

 

Freshman

Lathrop 44, Mountain House 0

Trey Santos and Pablo Pena both eclipsed 100 yards and scored two touchdowns Thursday night for the Spartans.

Santos (eight carries, 119 yards) scored on runs of 45 and 58 yards and Pena (six carries, 62 yards) added scoring runs of 8 and 14 yards. Souvanny Tuy (two carries, 65 yards) added a 45-yard touchdown tun and Eliseo Lopez picked up 81 yards on 41 carries.

Lathrop’s Eric Lucatero (three tackles) returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and Maddox Ramos made two interceptions. Marco Martinez, Arlee Wesley and Rueben Lopez made four tackles each and Lucatero three.

 

Sierra 22, Golden Valley 8

The Timberwolves scored 16 second-quarter points behind a pair of touchdown passes from Jayden Pimental to Ryan Reyes.

Pimental (13 of 19 passing, 131 yards) had touchdown throws of 13 and 47 yards to Reyes (three receptions, 65 yards) and a 2-yard scoring toss to John Thomson (three receptions, 20 yards).

Christian Anaya, A.J. Chapman and Xavier Torres all contributed to the Timberwolves offense.

Lorenzo Jones led the Sierra defense with a pair of fumble recoveries and nine tackles. Julian Ruiz added five stops, Reyes four with Jayson Arnoldus recovering a fumble.

 

Manteca 53, Wheatland 6

Cameron Jiminez threw for two touchdowns, and Quinn Martinez ran for a pair for the Buffaloes.

Jiminez (2 of 2 passing, 71 yards) had touchdown throws of 74 yards to Carson Sablan and 27 yards to Cooper Chamberlain. Martinez (six carries, 97 yards) added scoring runs of 29 and 30 yards, Owen Gully (4 of 6 passing, 77 yards) hit Jiminez with a 41-yard touchdown pass, Jose Rios scored on a 1-yard run and Jhadis Lucky returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown.

Xyloh Kuresa (five tackles) returned an interception 30 yards for a Manteca touchdown and Jhadis Lucky added six tackles.

 

Sutter 28, Ripon 0

Landon Crawford picked up 51 yards on 11 carried for the Indians.

Maxwell Ferral, Julian Deweerd and Caden Hernandez contributed to the Ripon offense.

Crawford made nine tackles and Jorge Paramo and Gavin Marlow added three stops apiece.
