Lathrop’s Diego Chavez threw for two touchdowns and ran for one to lead the sophomore Spartans to a 37-12 Valley Oak League win over visiting Weston Ranch on Friday.

 Chavez was 7 of 8 passing for 136 yards with touchdown passes to Keenan Donatelli (three receptions, 98 yards) and R.J. Tisdell. Chavez had three carries for 47 yards. Jakari Thompson (seven carries, 76 yards) and Alex Valencia (eight carries, 67 yards) each had a rushing touchdown for Lathrop.

 Santiago Kantor (five tackles), Brian Folger (five tackles), Jarod Atkings (four tackles) and Rob Luckett anchored the Lathrop defense from their line positions which led to interceptions by Tisdell and Andres Lozano.

 

Sierra 48, Kimball 0

Mark Paul scored from both sides of the ball for the host Timberwolves.

In addition to an interception return of 56 yards and a strip and recovery return of 45 yards, Paul had touchdown runs of 25 and 56 yards. Daniel Wyatt connected with Brian Terrell for touchdown passes of 30 and 40 yards.

Linebackers Enrigue Jasso, Scott Teicheira and Rudy Cervantez along with defensive ends Andrew Guevara and Eduardo Garcia helped secure the shutout for the Sierra.

 

Manteca 36, Sonora 21



The Buffaloes put up 20 first-quarter points and held the Wildcats scoreless in the first half.

Darrion Kitson churned out 193 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns for Manteca. Charles Dakari added two more touchdowns and Tyler Graves one.

Ronaldo Tijero had five tackles for the Buffaloes and Jesse Avila four. Tyler Graves recovered a fumble while Bobby Bratton and Jacob Menasco each had an interception for the Buffaloes.
