Three Weston Ranch graduates are going their separate ways for college.
Erron Duncan has signed to play for the UC Davis football team, older brother Eric Jr. is heading to the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky for basketball and Josh Dilg will continue his baseball career with Simpson College in Redding.
While Erron Duncan and Dilg are recent graduates of Weston Ranch, the well-traveled Eric Duncan Jr., a 2013 alum, has taken the long road to signing to a four-year university.
The well-travelled Duncan Jr. played for Future College Prep in Los Angeles before enrolling at Lassen College in Susanville. His most previous stop was with Western Wyoming Community College, where the 6-foot-1, 202-pound point guard averaged 10.9 points per game and helped the Mustangs compile a 21-9 record this past winter.
Duncan Jr. joins a Cumberlands team that reached the NAIA Division I National Championship quarterfinals and finished 24-12 for the 2015-16 season.
Erron Duncan played basketball for Weston Ranch as an underclassman and competed on the varsity squad with Dilg as a sophomore, but he focused on football and track and field over his final two years. Last fall, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back/defensive back was named to the All-Valley Oak League first-team offense and first-team defense after racking up 1,409 yards and 11 touchdowns from scrimmage along with 31 tackles. Even more impressive was his 4.5 GPA his senior year. He also qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section Track and Field Masters meet in the 100-yard dash and long jump in the spring.
Dilg was part of historic teams at Weston Ranch this past year. As a starting guard, he was a key member of the Valley Oak League and Sac-Joaquin Section Division III championship basketball team. For baseball, he batted .397 while starting in centerfield as the Cougars enjoyed their best-ever season with a 16-10 record.
