Jr Timberwolves varsity fends off rival Cowboys

Tommy Perea scored three touchdowns to lead the Manteca Jr. Timberwolves varsity to a 32-20 win over the Manteca Cowboys.  

Perea (19 carries, 100 yards) scored on 1-, 3- and 4-yard runs and Jordan Serbousek (14 carries, 170 yards) scampered 58 yards for a touchdown. Fernando Alaniz was 4 for 4 on conversion kicks. 

Alaniz made 13 tackles, Perea (forced fumble) 12, Serbousek and Harley Hensley 11 apiece, Bryson McMichael 10, Sal Ellis eight and Vincent Torres seven. 

Junior varsity

Cowboys 19, 

Jr. Timberwolves 0

Anthony Morales threw two touchdown passes for the Cowboys. 

Morales (five completions, 65 yards) connected with London Butler with a 13-yard scoring thrown and Dylan Stonum with a 27-yard touchdown pass. Izik Quezada (10 carries, for 71 yards) added a 1-yard scoring plunge.

Quinn Martinez, Blake Mount, Damien Reese, Jeremy Ap’e and Christopher Gallego all contributed on offense for the Cowboys.

Blake Mount and Gallego made10 tackles apiece followed by Gavin Goodwin and Ap’e with nine apiece; Santana Stevenson, Quezada, Isaac Alvaraz and Brandon Sena with eight each; Dylan Stonum (interception) seven; Joshua Reyes five and Robbie Espinoza, Maricio Zaupa and 

Damian Reese four apiece. 

Preston Smith, Ivan Huerta and Juju Moncada (eight carries, 40 yards) played well on offense for the Jr. Timberwolves.

Niko Ellks made 10 tackles for the Jr. Timberwolves. Huerta and Moncada made nine apiece, Micah Cardoza seven, Isiah Alcocer and 

Noah Navarro six apiece and Damian Delgadillo five.


Cowboys 28, 

Jr. Timberwolves 14

Nicco Juarez scored four touchdowns for the Cowboys and ran for nearly 200 yards.

Juarez (12 carries, 198 yards) scored on runs of 29, 43, 49 and 60 yards and Julian Ramires added 37 yards on six carries. 

Juarez and Julian Constance made 10 stops each, Devin Downey  and Caydin Soliz nine apiece, Julian Ramirez and Ricky Soria six each, Kyler Cayode four and Jonathan Constance and D.J. Bass Jr. three apiece. 

Madden Melendez (15 carries 96 yards) scored on a 1-yard run for the Jr. Timberwolves and Albert Menchaca (12 carries, 73 yards) added a 12-yard touchdown run. Maddox Morales also contributed on offense.

Brody Carabello and Tino Torres made six tackles apiece for the Jr. Timberwolves. Eric Vaquera added four stops with Gilbert Luiz, Melendez and Leiland Riggelman all making three tackles each.


Cowboys 19, 

Jr. Timberwolves 0

Bryant Lewis racked up 96 yards and a touchdown on just six carries for the Cowboys.

Terrence Montgomery added 56 yards on four carries and a touchdown and Isacc Estrada gained 75 yards on eight carries.

Devin Cortinas led the Cowboys defense with 10 tackles. Montgomery added nine stops, Erian Johnson Jr. seven and Estrada six. 

Montgomery returned a kickoff 60 yards.
