Ripon Christian’s volleyball team had little trouble dispatching Le Grand at home Thursday 25-13, 15-19, 25-12.

That sets the Knights up for Monday’s match with visiting Mariposa, the only other Southern League team that is undefeated through five matches.

Kristy Van Diver crushed 12 kills to lead the Ripon Christian attack. Andie Shelton contributed 26 assists and two aces. Kaylie Colyn added 21 digs, while Teagan Manus posted three blocks.

Sonora 3, Manteca 0

The visiting Wildcats (5-0, 14-5) dominated on their way to a quick 25-16, 25-7, 25-7 victory.

Julia Martinez hammered three kills, Ashley Gase handed out five assists and Morgan Miramontes contributed nine digs.

“When you’re up against Sonora it’s tough to get a rhythm going against them and they can shut you down pretty quick,” Manteca coach Tim Horning said. “We just couldn’t muster up much after hanging with them in the first game. Overall, our passing and defense were actually much better than in some of the matches that we’ve won.”
