Miller nets hat trick in Buff Cup

It was all Manteca in the opening round of its Buffalo Cup opener on Friday.
Kaley Miller led the charge with three goals, and Madison Burch contributed three assists in the 6-0 triumph over Pacheco of Los Banos. The Buffs (3-2) entertain Edison in the semifinal round this morning at 8.
MaryAnn Bueno chipped in an early goal to help Manteca build a 3-0 halftime lead. Carly Morrish opened scoring the second half, and Kaitlynn Funsch capped it off with a penalty kick. Freshman keeper Aimee Meier picked up a pair of saves, while Manteca peppered the Pacheco goal with 32 shot attempts.

Tracy 2, East Union 1
Jasmine Mejia gave East Union (2-2) a 1-0 halftime lead with a penalty kick.
Tracy (3-0) answered with a direct kick for the equalizer and a penalty kick for the go-ahead goal. The Lancers face off with Summerville in a consolation semifinal today.

The Lancers split their first two games of the Buffalo Cup.
They rebounded from a 2-0 loss to Inderkum in the opening round with a 6-1 blowout of Mountain House.
Kaylee Gines, Jasmine Rios and Jasmine Mast buried two goals apiece. Gines also had two assists. Cynthia Romero and Rayleen Farias shared time in goal.
