OAKDALE — East Union suffered a tough Valley Oak League loss at Oakdale on Thursday.

The Mustangs swept doubles to claim the edge, 5-4.

The Lancers was solid in singles, with No. 1 player Kyle Niendorf handling Spencer Keyser in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

No. 4 Gerardo Romero rolled past Dane Hauskens, 6-1, 6-3.

Hector Romero, East Union’s No. 5 player, edged out Branson Knowles in two sets, 6-4. 6-2.

No. 6 player Jose Sanchez beat Oakdale’s Angel Padilla in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0.

STOCKTON — The Cougars made their best showing in doubles play against the visiting Jaguars.

Malachi Moore and Noah Beltran, Weston Ranch’s top duo, won in two hard-fought sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Scott Cabarrabang and Phillip Orpilla also battled, taking both sets, 6-4, 6-3.
