ROUNDUP: TVL-leading Ripon crushes Hilmar in boys basketball

Landon Gillespie scored a game-high 17 points, while Marcus Madoski tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds Friday, as Ripon routed Hilmar on the road 71-43 in Trans-Valley League boys basketball action.

The Indians (7-1, 18-6 overall) led 37-24 at halftime and blew it open with a 21-7 in the third quarter.

Dawson Downs contributed 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. Bradley Reedy had nine points, Logan Lefebvre netted eight points and six rebounds and Ty Herrin collected 10 rebounds to go with five points.

Aaron Solorio paced Hilmar (0-8, 5-19) with 11 points.

 

Lathrop 58, Grace Davis 37

Playoff-hopeful Lathrop (6-4, 8-14 overall) registered its fourth straight Western Athletic Conference victory.

Reniel Crisostomo paced the Spartans with 12 points. Caiden Wisnieski racked up 11 points and eight rebounds. Bobby Cotton contributed eight points and five boars.

Morgan Penko scored to help Lathrop (4-2-2 WAC, 7-6-2 overall) salvage a tie in Modesto.

Manteca 3, River Islands 0

The Buffaloes notched their first victory of the season, getting goals form Juju Oregel, Luis Lucas and Adrian Anaya. Sean Lockwood and Eli Navarro each had an assist.

Ariana Garcia and Dayana Martinez each had a brace for Lathrop.

Sierra 42 Central Catholic 37
The Timberwolves (5-3 Valley Oak League, 17-7 overall) battled back from a 20-12 halftime deficit for the road win.

Cody Camarena led Sierra with nine points, knocking down three of his team’s six 3-pointers. Anthony Mayorga and Riley Kane each scored seven points.

 

Grace Davis 54, Lathrop 43

A.J. Patel paced Lathrop with 10 points, while Landen Nolte and Justin Neal each added nine.

 

Frosh boys basketball

Lathrop 74, Grace Davis 15

Adrian Vaye went off for 22 points, 12 steals, eight rebounds and six assists in Lathrop’s one-sided win.

Bryan Gamboa added 15 points, eight steals, five assists and four rebounds.

Isaac Kempf made eight of 13 field goals for 24 points to go with nine rebounds as the Timberwolves (5-3 VOL, 13-8 overall) rolled to the road victory.

Karanbir Bhandal scored all 10 of his points in the second half. Isaiah Revives pitched in with nine points and three steals. Arsh Gosal netted seven points, seven boards and five assists.
