LOS BANOS – The Lathrop High girls soccer squad stayed atop of the Western Athletic Conference following the 3-0 win against the Tigers on Monday.

The Spartans (5-0, 6-2) were sparked by Aryana Jones.

Jones had a hand in each goal, including the first one in which she assisted the Morgan Penko score.

Jones got an assist from Isa Paniagua on her next goal – her final one was credited as unassisted.

Los Banos dropped to 0-3 in the WAC, 2-6 overall.

Lathrop will travel to Beyer on Wednesday.

Allana Lewis and Mia Jenkins paved the way in the Spartan win.

Lewis scored a goal and also assisted the one by Jenkins.

 

Varsity girls basketball

Enoch 57, Ripon 42

MODESTO – the Indians were outscored 35-14 in the second half of the non-league game Monday at Enoch.

Ripon (5-2) was led by Sierra Hollis, who scored a team-high 18 points with a pair of 3s and five rebounds. Mackenzie Loechler chipped in with nine points to go with her 10 boards.

Enoch jumped out to a 16-9 first-quarter lead, maintaining that advantage to claim a 28-22 edge at the break.

The Indians will take on Ceres in the opener of the Patterson Tournament on Thursday.
