Manteca Mayhem Softball Tryouts will be held August 8.
Under-12 and Under-10 will meet at 9:30 a.m. from noon at Northgate Park.

SOCCER
The Manteca Area Soccer League has postponed its 2009 Player Development Camp to Aug. 3-7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Woodward Park soccer fields.
Program highlights include successful dribbling, passing and receiving, individual ball mastery, successful ball preparation, great first touches, supportive play, shooting to score, movement of the ball, change of direction, one-on-one attacking and defense and successful goal keeping.
Besides technique instruction, games will take place as well.

MASL U-19: The Manteca Area Soccer League is recruiting players for its under-19 girls team. The sign-up fee is $90.

MANTECA FC: Manteca Futbol Club is looking to fill roster spots for many of its younger teams.
The under-11 girls Arsenal 98 is welcoming potential players to attend its practices Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Chadwick Park. The MFC Under-10 Red Devils girls soccer team invites any interested players looking to join the squad to practice sessions which resume August 4.

The Manteca Chargers still have room on their junior varsity and varsity football and cheer programs for children aged 10-14. The Chargers are willing to assist those families who are struggling with financial hardships. The Chargers have the ability to offer scholarships to those individuals in need.

JAGUARS: The Manteca Jaguars will hold a football and cheer mini-camp on Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Union High. The season kickoff rally begins at 6 p.m. on the same day.
The first official day of practice is on July 27 from 6-8 p.m. at East Union High.


REBELS: The Delta Rebels’ meet-and-greet-day is on July 18 from noon-3 p.m. at Lincoln Park, and first practices are on July 20 from 6-8.

ARENA: World Events in association with Big League Dreams sports park in Manteca is now taking registrations for its first ever Arena Flag Football League.

VOLLEYBALL

RIPON CAMP: The City of Ripon in conjunction with RAGE Volleyball Club will begin to offer a series of instructional volleyball clinics.On July 26 at Ripon High, two more sessions will take place, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for intermediate players ($12) and 3 to 6 p.m. for intermediate to advanced ($15).  To register, please visit www.ragevaball.com. DELTA VALLEY: Delta Valley Volleyball Club is accepting applications for its 12th Annual Volleyball Camp, Aug. 9 through 13 at the Lodi Academy, 1230 South Central Avenue in Lodi.


Beginner and intermediate sessions run Sunday at 11 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Intermediate/advanced sessions are Sunday at 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.
Coast $175 per player, and each camper receives two personalized camp T-shirts and a top-quality volleyball.
Intermediate players may attend both sessions, though enrollment is limited to 50 campers per session.
Delta Valley will hold its setters camp Aug. 10 through 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. Cost is $130.
In addition, the club will host a series of drop-in clinics starting July today. No advanced registration required and cost is $15 per three-hour session.

BASEBALL
NO ERRORS CAMP: The No Errors Fundamental Camp with Ken Huckaby will run Aug. 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at Big League Dreams sports complex at Airport Way and Daniels Street in Manteca.
Cost is $110 per camper ages 8 and up.
Huckaby, a former big leaguer and Manteca High graduate, will instruct alongside fellow MLB alum.
Each camper will receive a No Errors welcome gift. Please bring a glove, bat, helmet and water.

GOLF
The Manteca Cowboys youth football and cheer program will hold its annual Shoot for the Star Golf Tournament Sunday, Aug. 2 at Manteca Park Golf Course. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., and players must check in at 11:30 a.m. Dinner and an awards presentation will start at 6 p.m.
Entry fee is $100 per golfer, and $30 for those who plan on attending only the dinner. Green fees, golf cart, scoring, range balls and dinner-and-door-prizes are covered for participating players.
The tournament will also feature longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests, a prize for hole-in-ones, raffles and more.
Registration forms are due by July 24, and a bucket of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages will be offered for entries made by Friday, July 3.
