Perez hits 2B in 10th, Ports cap sweep

SAN JOSE (AP) — Brallan Perez hit an RBI double in the top of the 10th inning to help lead the Stockton Ports to an 11-10 win over the San Jose Giants on Thursday. The Ports swept the three-game series with the win.

Luke Persico scored the go-ahead run on the double after he started the inning on second. Later in the inning, Stockton added an insurance run when Perez scored on an error.

In the bottom of the inning, San Jose scored on a double-play groundout by Sandro Fabian that brought home Gio Brusa. However, Miguel Romero got Matt Winn to hit into a forceout with a runner on first to end the game for his 13th save of the season.

The Ports tied the game 9-9 in the ninth when William Toffey hit an RBI single, bringing home Skye Bolt as part of a three-run inning.

Toffey homered and singled twice, driving in three runs in the win. Collin Theroux hit a pair of solo homers.

Angel Duno (2-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Nolan Riggs (1-3) took the loss in the California League game.

In the losing effort, San Jose got contributions throughout its order, as five players picked up at least a pair of hits.
