Ripon Orioles defeat Spreckels Park Tigers 12-5 during Juniors TOC consolation finals

STOCKTON – The Ripon Orioles put up five runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away from the Spreckels Park Tigers on the way to a 12-5 Orioles win in the consolation final of the District 67 Juniors Tournament of Champions at Paul Weston Park. Ripon advances to the finals round today at noon against Weston Ranch.

Clinging to a 7-5 lead in the seventh inning with two outs and the bases loaded, Mason Durao (2 for 3, two RBI, two runs) laced a two-RBI single for the Orioles that plated Landon Corcoran (three runs) and Landon Winters (2 for 2, RBI, run). Tyler Wadlow walked and came around to score on a wild pitch and Durao and Justin Solstrom (two runs) scored on an error off the bat of Jackson Malone (2 for 3).

Ripon’s Anthony Alves went 2 for 4 with three runs while teammates Cooper Morino (RBI), Colton Grimm, Lucas Weaver, Tyler Wadlow, and Kao Sanchez each scored a run. Weaver chased down three fly balls in left field in the final two innings.

A.J. Rogers doubled in and scored a run for the Tigers. Max Guarascio added an RBI with Manolo Asuncion, Gio Alvarez, Carter Castro and Jaysen Martinez added a run apiece.

Manteca’s Jace Reynolds went 3 for 3 with four RBI and a double. Ronnie Cosio and Liam Souza each knocked in three runs and Lincoln Reynolds went 2 for 3 in the consolation finals at Brock Elliott School. 

A.J. Haines started the game for the White Sox and allowed one run over 2.1 innings with six strikeouts. Liam Souza pitched middle innings and Jace Reynolds did not allow a hit in closing out the game.

Manteca advances to today’s finals against Ripon at 10 a.m.
