Leesa Vargas shows off her new Hi-Five Nutrition sign that is ready to mount on her new business.

The grand opening for a new Hi-Five nutrition outlet on West Yosemite Avenue is set for Saturday morning at the Manteca Market Place center

Owner Leesa Vargas, who has attended a host of Manteca schools from Nile Garden to Sierra High, is opening the store in the former location of Rooster Juice.

The shop’s hours will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. The hours are in concert with a nearby gym in the shopping center. After a workout Vargas hopes Mantecans will stop by their shop for an energy lift.

The shop is featuring healthy fast foods that manage to shrink the appetite based on smoothie offerings. Their favorites are Vanilla and Peanut Butter, Pay Day and PB & Jelly – all boasting a maximum 220 calories, some as low as 140 calories, with 21 different vitamins.

Vargas said her shakes come in over 40 flavors.  “It is a whole meal replacement,” she said, adding that her healthy options have only five to seven percent sugar and gluten solutions as well.

The French Toast smoothie is thought to have plenty of sugar because it is so good, she said, but it is not and it definitely a favorite, she said.

Hi-Five Nutrition is the third such outlet in Manteca focusing on health where customers may call in their orders in advance of picking them up. The shop includes in-house club activities where members can participate in weight loss challenges and where people then have an excuse to get on track with a more healthy food intake.
