It’s been one of the hottest topics of conversation around Manteca – when is Red Robin Gourmet Burgers opening?

For the past several weeks, numerous people have tried the doors of the restaurant at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley across from Bass Pro Shops only to find out they weren’t ready for business.

Even while holding their special invitation-only lunch and dinner specials for friends and family of staffers and selected dignitaries from the community on Thursday, Red Robin saw its fair share of regular people jumping at the chance to score a bite at a new restaurant – making things slightly chaotic for the staff that’s still learning the ropes.

The business doesn’t officially open its doors until this Monday.

But even with some people who weren’t on the guest list crashing the party, General Manager Mitch Kinter saw it as a good sign that the community as a whole is anxious about Red Robin officially opening their doors.

“What we’ve been hearing from people is that they couldn’t wait for us to get here,” said Kinter while overlooking his staff on their second straight live training day. “Everybody has been really nice, and they’ve been complimentary about the service and the food and everything that we’re doing. It’s really nice to hear when we’re opening a new store.”

After starting as a server in Pleasanton and working his way through the ropes, Kinter – who is coming to Manteca from the Turlock location – is no stranger to the company. He has 10-years under his belt, and hopes that his experience will resonate with the staff and lead to a pleasurable dining experience for those who walk through the doors.

And while it’s a restaurant that pays homage to the diners of the past and adds a unique twist with their extended gourmet hamburger line, the menu includes a little bit of something for everybody – including salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, pasta, and appetizers, in addition to a full bar menu for those looking for libations.

“We’re hoping to bring a fun, family atmosphere that we can introduce and grow into the community,” Kinter said. “It’s a really good and positive atmosphere and a place for people to come and enjoy a good meal.”

Red Robin is located inside of The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley at the Union Road and Highway 120 Bypass interchange.
