The under $230,000 market when it comes to nicer resale homes is almost history once again in Manteca.

A search of active listings Thursday found 10 decent homes for $250,000 or less with appeal and in — or close to — move-in condition. Three were listed for $250,000. Three were listed for $249,000. And three were listed between $243,000 and $247,000. One was available for $229,000.

A year or so ago homes for $230,000 or less that were in good shape, with some upgrades and in a good neighborhood were a dime a dozen. That’s no longer the case thanks to the strong housing market. That’s what makes 5794 Comanche Drive a fairly rare find in today’s Manteca resale market.

The home listed by Jessie Barrett 209.815.0928, jessiebarrettrealtor@gmail.com, www.jbarrett.pmz.com) of PMZ Real Estate is on a quiet loop street in the Raymus Village neighborhood nestled along Manteca’s northern boundary east of Highway 99.

Although a traditional neighborhood, it is located in the county and is just outside the path of development. Where the home is located in the neighborhood is away from freeway noise and is the point you can hear the sounds of the countryside at night which is mostly quiet. Built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Raymus Village has a $100 per year fee that goes toward the upkeep of the neighborhood park.

The three bedroom home has two bathrooms with 1,165 square feet on a 6,499-square-foot lot.

The galley-style kitchen comes with appliances.

The home itself has newer windows, central heat and air and a roof that all have been put in place during the past seven years. A hallway skylight also has been installed.

As an added bonus there is a large in-ground swimming pool that was re-plastered 12 years ago.

There is a large covered patio off the kitchen dining area. The patio is separated from the rest of the backyard with a pool safety fence.

There is also a low cyclone fence securing the front yard.

Highway 99 access is nearby plus shopping is within a mile.
