MODESTO - Sierra High graduate and “The Voice” finalist Lindsey Pavao is performing on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at a Modesto Sound teen recording and creative arts studio concert fundraiser at the home of one of Modesto Sound’s board members.
The aim of the concert is to raise awareness of Modesto Sound and provide attendees with a fun, musical opportunity to celebrate and give back for Modesto Sound’s continual gift of musical and other creative arts opportunities to youth.
Also performing at the concert will be Kaylee Smith, a 13-year-old spunky singer-songwriter; Josh Rosenblum, amazing rock star; The Airlings, new folk music; and Stop Motion Poetry, the winner of Valley's Got Talent 2012 who recently landed a placement in Universal Pictures' "Mental" for their song "Madness is Modern" a co-write with writer Jeff Cohen (Band Perry, Spin Doctors).
Their music is fun and enjoyable for all ages.
The home itself is a great venue which has hosted similar fundraiser concerts in the past as well as been featured in the publications of the Modesto Garden Club. Its relaxing tropical atmosphere, including a huge waterfall and tiki torches, will provide an ambience just right for enjoying the concert and having a good time.
There will be a $5 and up suggested donation at the door to get into the concert; the money will go to support Modesto Sound programs including scholarships for kids to attend music camp. The Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation is matching funds up to $5,000. A silent auction will also take place to add to the fundraising effort.
Modesto Sound has been providing affordable music and creative arts services to youth and adults for over five years. Modesto Sound’s organizational mission is to empower youth to create music and artistic media through access to internships, industry experts, and professional equipment, and to become mentors to other youth. Modesto Sound is located at Gregori High School in Modesto, a location which allows the studio to have increased connectivity with local music and arts students.
The “Tropical Garden Concert” takes place at 3440 Wycliffe Drive. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP on-line modestosound.org/tropical, by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 209-573-0533.
