Tuolumne writers retreat setting at Columbia State Park

COLUMBIA - The Sonora Writers Group is now accepting registration for the Tuolumne Writers retreat in the Historic of Columbia.

The event will take place Sept. 28-30.

The Tuolumne Writers Retreat will include writing workshops with creativity, imagination, inspiration, learning, sharing, and lots of entertainment. 

Many of the activities scheduled for the weekend will be free and open to the public. Friday will kick off the Retreat with a spooky ghost walk lead by Carol Biederman, with stories and poems. Cowboy poets Wendy Brown Barry and Madison Seamans will perform at the Douglass Saloon Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Saturday 6:30 p.m. in Anglos Hall there will an open mic night with poetry, short stories and entertainment by The Devil Mountain Boys.

Saturday evening will also include for Retreat attendee’s dinner and guest speaker, author Charity Maness in Black Barts Skillet.

Sunday’s event for Retreat attendees will feature guest speaker, playwrite author Alexander Chow-Stuart, and a publisher’s panel with noted experts to answer writer’s questions and in Anglos Hall.

Author’s Row Sunday morning will be open to the public, where you can meet the authors and pick up autographed copies of your favorite book, written by many of our local Authors.

Pre-registration is required for the two days of writer’s workshops and meals. Attendees registering before Aug. 31 will receive a discount.
