Car shows are a dime a dozen this time of year in Manteca and surrounding communities.

But the one this Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Golden Community Gym and parking lot, 1031 N. Main St., will be a bit different.

Dubbed “Meet the Muscles”, it will allow kids and adults to explore the many varieties of specialty vehicles seen daily in the Central Valley including semi-trucks, farm machinery, tow trucks, police vehicles, and exotic cars. There will also be Hot Wheels races.

People are encouraged to bring their Hot Wheels to race in one of four categories: toddlers and kids ages 3 to 6, kids 7 to 12 years, teens 13 to 17, and adults 18 and older.

The official rules are posted on the Manteca Parks & Recreation website at www.mantecagov.com/parks.

There will, also be a radio controlled obstacle course, Lego building, face painting, carnival games, prizes and more. The event is free and sponsored by the Manteca Parks and Recreation Department and the Manteca Youth Advisory Commission.

The free event also features music and vendor booths.
