Boutique hosts Haven of Peace toy drive

Next weekend’s Holiday Boutique at the Manteca-Ripon Pentecost Society Hall will feature more than vendor booths.
The annual three-day event at 133 N. Grant St. on Dec. 4-6 is also offering baked goods along with snack bar items such as hot chocolate, nachos, hotdogs and pizza.
A toy drive benefiting Haven of Peace – the homeless shelter for women and children is located in French Camp – is being conducted again by Alyssa Cambra, who a sophomore at Central Catholic High.
For the second straight year, the Manteca product will be accepting unwrapped gift items for Haven of Peace youngsters during the holidays during all three days of this admission-free event.
The Holiday Boutique is also being held at the same time as the Manteca Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Holiday Parade & Street Fair on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Teresa Rieb, who is an organizer for the Holiday Boutique – she indicated that this event has been held at the MRPS Hall for nearly 10 years – pointed out that the two events in the same vicinity is a win-win for all.
“We’ll be inside and the Holiday Street Fair will be held outside (on Grant Street between Yosemite Avenue and Moffat Boulevard),” she said.
The parade route is on Yosemite and is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Rieb said the Holiday Boutique is a “good way to begin the holidays.”
She’s expecting over 20 vendors. They’ll be selling anything from candles and Tupperware to dog treats and scented oils.
