Friday is the deadline for entries into the second annual Manteca Chamber of Commerce Memorial Day parade honoring those who have died Serving America as well as those who returned home safely.

The parade takes place Monday, May 30, at 11:30 a.m. in Yosemite Avenue from Library Park to Manteca High in downtown Manteca.

Veterans who have entries are not being charged to enter the parade. All other entries are $50 to help offset the cost of staging the parade.

Burke is serving as the grand marshal for the Manteca Memorial Day parade.  Burke assumed command of the Defense Logistics Agency Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin on June 4, 2010. His previous assignment was as the Director of Logistics for U.S. Forces Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
