STOCKTON — While growing up in Manteca, Skip Stellhorn loved playing with computers.  

Now, as a highly-respected and recognized computer security expert, he continues to enjoy working with them every day in a much different capacity: Senior Information Security Manager for Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Skip will share his years of experience with some of the largest security companies in the world at the Wednesday, July 15 Stockton Internet Marketing Conference at the Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel, 8am to 5pm.  Specifically, Skip will talk about staying secure while using laptops or other wireless devices while on the Internet at work or home.

The Stockton Internet Marketing Conference is the first of its kind to be held in the Central Valley and brings together the latest in technologies to assist local businesses in their online marketing and security efforts.  

For more than a decade Skip has lead a wide range of issues on information security strategy, technology, training and management in a variety of top bay-area organizations.

As the Senior Information Security Manager for Stanford University Graduate School of Business (GSB), he has brought to bear a number of high-profile projects which have greatly improved the security posture of the GSB. His career has been devoted to helping leaders and organizations solve critical strategic issues and make lasting substantial improvements in their performance.

Skip’s experience also includes work as a Senior Information Security Analyst for Symantec, a world-wide computer security company.

Skip will be joined by other speakers at the conference including Laura Lowell, former Director of Worldwide Consumer Marketing Communications for Hewlett-Packard and much sought after Silicon Valley consultant, author, and speaker.  She will share her expertise regarding “Social Media Marketing and Business.”  The multi-media presentation is intended to help business owners and managers understand what social media is and how to implement proven marketing strategies.

Early in her career, Lowell spent several years at Intel Corporation where was on the start-up team that developed and implemented the Intel Inside branding program. Her degree from the University of Pacific in International Relations prepared her for work assignments in Hong Kong and London, after which she received her MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business with an emphasis on marketing and entrepreneurship.
