Bulletin staff report

Market & Music in Manteca is ending its 2015 summer run with a bang on Tuesday.

Playing will be Petty’s Heartbreakers — a Tom Petty tribute band out of Modesto.

Various vendors will be giving away free helium balloons. There will also be free face painting.

The event includes a free raffle of a basket worth over $100.

Market & Music in Manteca takes place at Library Park from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The band will play from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Modesto-based band captures the look and sound of one of classic rock’s most iconic artist. Audiences are treated to a night full of huge hit songs such as ‘Free Fallin’, Breakdown’, Refugee’, ‘American Girl’, and many more. ‘

These songs are the soundtrack to people’s lives,” said singer Kelly Rogers. “It’s a great opportunity to put on your dancing shoes, get your voices ready to sing along, and be reminded of some of the best times in your life through these songs”

Besides having 11 farmers selling vegetables, fruits, nuts and more there are a number of other vendors at the event along with a beer and wine garden and Rock Oven Pizza.

The farmers are lined up on the street facing the park while vendors encircle the gazebo. That allows families to enjoy the music as they shop as well as stay awhile to enjoy the cool summer evening.

The presenting sponsors are American Chevrolet and South San Joaquin Irrigation District.

The event is being staged by the Manteca Chamber of Commerce.
