Creepy and kooky?

The Addams Family Musical by the Manteca High Drama Department is that and more.

Noah Gonzales plays Gomez Adams, the patriarch of the family in the musical comedy under the direction of Dawn Coyan at the Mulvihill Theater, 450 E. Yosemite Ave.

Meg Densmore is his young, cynical daughter Wednesday Addams, who falls in love with Lucas Beineke (Jaisun Picou), an otherwise normal guy.

She tells her father of her engagement to Lucas, begging Gomez to keep this knowledge secret from Morticia, as played by Bailey Hutchens.

The Bieneke family visits the Addams mansion for dinner. Gomez struggles to keep this secret from his wife in this musical which “humorously explores the difficulties relationships endure and pushes the idea of exposing one’s inner darkness,” Coyan said.

The Addams Family Musical opens Thursday at 7 p.m. along with Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m. matinee, 7 o’clock closing night).

Cost is $10 adults and $8 for students and children.
