A Happy Daze RV dealership is looking at the Ripon Crossing shopping center as the place to serve the Central Valley.

Happy Daze RV could be coming to Ripon.

The family-owned recreational vehicle business is looking to set up a dealership in the Ripon Crossing shopping center along Jack Tone Road and Canal Drive.

“They want to want to locate near Boat Country and the (Alpine) climbing gym,” said Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

Earlier, elected leaders adopted a resolution, approving the participation of Happy Daze RV in the City’s Economic Development Incentive Program. No discussion was necessary.

In his report, Zuidervaart said the incentive program was implemented in 2017 in an effort to increase the City’s economic position by becoming more competitive with surrounding communities when it comes to non-residential growth.

“Another main objective of the Council (when adopting the program) was to work on changing Ripon’s negative image in the development community,” he added.

Zuidervaart indicated that the next step for Happy Daze RV is the Planning Commission – that meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 19.

Happy Daze RV is based in Northern California, serving the needs of RV enthusiasts since 1974.

Besides Boat Country and the soon-to-be-open Alpine Climbing Adventure Fitness – Les Schwab Tires and Tractor Supply are the other occupants in the area – Ripon Crossing will also get a Burger King and Popeyes Chicken restaurants along with Shell Station / Convenience Store with a Tommy’s Express Car Wash.
