Lathrop High’s Centre Stage Theatre is getting ready to do the weekend production of Jeremy Bloom’s Peter/Wendy.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, and two shows on Saturday – a 2 p.m. matinee and a 7 p.m. encore.

This is adaptation of the Peter Pan fairy tale but with a slightly darker edge.

LHS director Hillary Pangburn and her cast and crew of about two dozen have been spending the past few months working on the play, stage and everything else associated with the play.

Included is an interactive stage with windows and doors coupled with happy thoughts written by chalk on the walls.

With opening night looming, the cast was excited Wednesday to perform this highly-touted Jeremy Bloom play that reunites Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell and other favorite characters.

"It's been hard work, dedication, but (this play) has been so much fun," said one cast member.
