Ripon plans summer school for June 2-29

The Ripon Unified school board will hear plans for summer school at Tuesday's 7 p.m. monthly session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The elementary school programs are scheduled to take place at Ripon Elementary School, from June 2 through June 29.

Ditto those same days for the high school programs at Ripon High.

Director of Curriculum and Categorical Programs Kathy Coleman is scheduled to provide the summer school update.

The Summer Academy will be made up of 308 elementary school students and 16 teachers.

High school students, 140 altogether, will be enrolled in English I, II, III, or U.S. History.

Six teachers will instruct those classes.

In other agenda items:

* Superintendent Ziggy Robeson will present the Every Student Succeeding recognitions. She'll also give the latest on the re-opening of the schools plan.

* Director of Operations Andy Strickland is scheduled to provide an update on the Ripon High Bathrooms / Bleachers construction place at Stouffer Field.

* Trustees will consider a resolution to recognizing certificated and classified employees for their important contributions to education in RUSD.
