Friends and neighbors of Mantecan Terri Candelaria will know on Tuesday whether she is a big winner at the popular television game show, “The Price is Right.”

Courtney Smith from the CBS Daytime in Studio City, Calif., said the Food-4-Less Rancho San Miguel employee will appear on the show on Tuesday, 10 a.m., on KOVR Channel 13.

“We can’t tell you whether your newly minted hometown ‘celebrity’ will take home the Showcase, but nobody leaves The Price is Right without a great price… and a really fun chat with host Drew Carey,” Smith told the Bulletin.

Smith did not indicate whether Candelaria is a big winner. The Bulletin was also asked not to directly contact the contestant because of confidentiality agreements that they signed with the show.

The last big winner from Manteca on “The Price is Right” was Lou George of the Woodbridge at Del Webb community on North Union Road. George appeared on the popular game show a few years ago when a group of Del Webb residents took a trip to Southern California. On the day the show was aired on TV, a party was held in the Del Webb clubhouse where the Georges’ friends and neighbors watched the show together and joined in the fun.

“The Price is Right” is the longest-running game show in television history, according to Smith. Nominated in 2008 for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show, “The Price is Right” is produced by FremantleMedia North America. The popular game show is aired weekdays on the CBS Television Network.

Everyone is invited to “Come on Down” and watch a taping of the show with a possibility of being chosen as a contestant like George and Candelaria by obtaining a free ticket.
