Get ready for some Jingle Bell Rock, Manteca-style.

Jingle Bell Rock is the theme of the 27th annual Manteca Chamber of Commerce twilight holiday parade being staged Saturday, Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m.

There are already more than 90 entries including every Manteca Unified School District school band.

Chamber Chief Executive officer Debby Moorhead said the parade marshal this year will be the South San Joaquin Irrigation District in recognition of the agency’s century of servcie to Manteca, Ripon, and Escalon.

There are seven general categories with sub categories of which entries will be judged for trophies and ribbons. The general categories are floats, musical units, twirling, visual/marching, horses, automobiles, and novelty/miscellaneous. All entries must have lights.

The parade typically attracts 7,000 plus spectators along Yosemite Avenue between Library Park and Garfield Avenue by Manteca High.
