HUGHSON (AP) — Authorities say they found the bodies of two men in a Central Valley home after a standoff between an armed man and sheriff’s deputies.

Sacramento television station KCRA 3 says members of a SWAT team found the bodies when they entered the home in Hughson around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The events leading to the standoff started to unfold earlier in the day when Stanislaus County deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun inside a car in nearby Oakdale.

When deputies approached the car, the man sped off, leading them to the home in Hughson.

KCRA says the SWAT team entered the home after shots were heard inside the home.

The names of the two men have not been released.

Hughson is located east of Modesto.
