BICYCLIST KILLED BY VEHICLE IN STOCKTON: STOCKTON  - A bicyclist who incurred serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in Stockton Tuesday morning has died.

The cyclist was in the area of Arch Road and Highway 99 at 9:47 a.m. when he was hit, said Officer Joe Silva with the Stockton Police Department.

Paramedics arrived and performed CPR on the man before transporting him to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Smith said the man later died from his injuries.

The name of the cyclist, who was in his 50s, has not been released.

The woman driving the vehicle remained at the scene, said Silva.

Police units were investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

 

MAN CAUGHT STEALING A BOAT IN STOCKTON: STOCKTON - A man was caught in the act of stealing a boat from a Stockton dock Tuesday morning, say police. 

Stockton police reports stated officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Weber Ave. around 5:26 a.m., following reports of a man trying to steal a boat.

Upon arrival, officers located 41-year-old John Kritzer adrift in the boat within the docks, police said.

Officers attempted to talk Kritzer out of the boat, but he threatened them and then jumped into the water, said police.

Kritzer swam back to the dock where he was apprehended and arrested on a charge of boat theft.
