Tracy Rep staging auditions for Little Princess

TRACY — Tracy Repertory Theatre is holding auditions for their first play being staged at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in November.

In the beloved classic “A Little Princess,” based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Sara Crewe is a lovely and caring girl — given to flights of fancy and pretending. She is placed in a British boarding school while her father goes off to the military in India. When her papa comes down with the fever, the true colors of her school’s headmistress come out when she places Sarah in a bare attic bedroom as a servant.

There are parts for girls from 7-14 years old, plus adult male and adult female roles. The adult roles may be filled with older teens. Auditions will be held at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts at 715 Central Avenue in Tracy, on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9:30 a.m. until, and on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Call for more information at 209-207-4494. A prepared monologue is preferred for the audition, but the director will also accept cold readings. For an audition form please see tracyrep.org, or email pammy510@msn.com. Bring a headshot or photo of you along with the application to the audition.
