What better way to “wine” down for the holiday but with the Taste of Ripon.
This annual wine and food event in historic downtown is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m.
“Spend an evening strolling business to business, sampling food, beer, and wine (using) your commemorative wine glass provided by McManis Family Vineyard,” said Dawn Ribeiro, who is the membership/marketing director of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.
An estimated 500 people are expected to turn up for the landmark 20th annual event.
“Once you’re done strolling, head over to Schemper’s Ace Hardware (150 N. Wilma Ave.) for the 10th annual party – there will be more wine and great food,” Ribeiro added.
Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the Ripon Chamber of Commerce, 929 W. Main St.
Available will be designated drives. Cost for this service is $15.
The goal for those partaking is to drop in as many places possible, checking off each on the Taste of Ripon Passport available upon checking in.
At same time, businesses not only go all out with their spread of food and beverages but are also open, in turn, allowing folks to get in their Christmas-gift shopping at the same time.
Furthermore, they can expect to hear many of their favorite holiday tunes played in the downtown sound system.
In addition, buses will run every 15 minutes, making eight round-trip stops for Taste-of-Ripon goers who must be age 21 or older.
Those purchasing their tickets via telephone are instructed to go to will call at the Ripon Memorial Library.
