Alfred Elmer Russell, 82, entered into rest on March 13, 2009 in Sonora, California. He was born on December 11, 1926 to Mr. and Mrs. Dean and Mabel Russell. He was a resident of Dorington, CA, for the past 14 years and previously of Manteca for 72 years. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife Patsy L. Russell and his sister Addie West.

Alfred is survived by his daughter Patricia Bennett and husband Robert of Lathrop. Grandchildren are Robert Bennett II of Lathrop and Joshua Bennett and fiancé Letisha of Lathrop, and one great-granddaughter Stacy Jewel Bennett.

Alfred graduated from Manteca High School in 1944. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1945 – 1946.

Alfred was a registered Nurse for over 21 years. He worked at Palm Haven in Manteca and San Joaquin Convalescent Hospital. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, camping, and hunting were some of his favorites. He loved the mountains and finally had his dream come true by moving to the Sonora area 14 years ago. Alfred was a true family man who was an amazing care taker.

Services for Mr. Russell are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Services will be on Saturday March 28, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Christ, 3880 Fremont St. Stockton. Burial will be at Farmington Cemetery.
