Annie DeGroot passed away on December 19, 2022 leaving behind her beloved husband of 67 years, Al
She is survived by her children, Ellen (Zeb) Hammonds, Albert (Rebecca) DeGroot and Ron (Joyce) DeGroot. Annie was blessed with ten grandchildren, Kasey (Nick) Rossi, Ryan Hammonds, Sara Goncalves, Jessica DeGroot, Zachary DeGroot, Megan DeGroot, Helena (Danie) Quirin, Anneke, Marike and Wolfgang DeGroot. Annie was a devoted and faithful Catholic woman who volunteered with the St. Vincente de Paul ministries for over 25 years. Service and volunteerism were a huge part of her life, in addition to giving her time to St. Vincente de Paul, she also spent over 20 years donating her energy to the local blood bank.
Annie was an avid knitter and crotchetier. She always had knitting needles in her hand and made blankets, scarfs and beanies for everyone. She never wanted a child to be cold and spent hours creating beautiful items to donate to those in need. Annie was a loving woman, but one who never shied away from speaking her mind. She will be missed tremendously by her family.
