Claudia C. Watkins, 80, of Manteca, passed on October 13, 2020 at Kaiser Hospital in Manteca. Claudia was born on August 7, 1940 in Phoenix Arizona.  Claudia created a happy life raising her family in Livermore and retiring to Sonora, with one final happy move to the Woodbridge Del Web community in Manteca in 2007.
Claudia spent most of her early years growing up in San Francisco attending Galileo High School.  This was when she developed the love of music and singing. Always a sparkle in her eye when she talked about being a big band singer in the 50’s throughout the City. It was out in the City dancing where she met her loving husband of 44 years Donald Watkins.  They shared their love of music, dance, food, cooking, travel and raising their children as well as many fur babies. She had great accomplishments as a leader working at the Lawrence Livermore National laboratory for over 25 years.  In her later years could not stop leading and having fun as she started and was Queen Mother of two Red Hat Ladies groups in Sonora, then at Woodbridge.
Claudia is survived by her children Greg Watkins of Tracy; Christi Sanchez of Livermore and three grandchildren Kassi, Kylii, and Theo. She is also survived by her loving dogs Molly and Mitzi.
In the spring she will be laid to rest with her husband Don at Saint Anne’s Cemetery in Columbia CA.  The family is requesting in place of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute or Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation on behalf of her grandchildren.
