Daniel Alexander Gomes
October 20, 1942 - December 10, 2016
Daniel Gomes K

A memorial for Daniel is being held at 1825 Pacific Ave. (the old Bob Hope Theater), Stockton, CA at 2pm on Sunday, January 15.
Daniel Alexander Gomes was born on October 20, 1942 in Stockton, CA. He was number two in a string of five boys to Anthony and Arsins Gomes.
Daniel was preceded in death by mother and father, Anthony and Arsins Gomes, and his four brothers Anthony, Kenny, Frank and Raymond.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his children Laura Duren, Daniel and Steven and Kristina Dutra, all from California, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He spent his childhood on a small dairy in Manteca. After graduating from Manteca High School in 1960, Daniel got married to Linda Rich and began a family.
Like all of his brothers, something in his blood called him to the sea where he spent his formidable years as a commercial tuna fisherman.
Eventually  Daniel moved back to Manteca, added a new member to the family and went to work as a mechanic at the local fertilizer plant.  Daniel lived in Morgan Hill for a few years before retiring to Crescent City, CA where he passed into God’s care on December 10, 2016.
Daniel was a proud man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He will be missed dearly, talked of kindly, and thought of always.
  “May you sail forever.”
