Tubbs, Eileen Katheryn (Caputo), age 93, passed on Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Manteca, CA.  Eileen was born on October 16, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rosario and Bruni Caputo. She was the last living of their 11 children.
While working for the Union Pacific Railroad, Eileen met her love of 72 years, Willard Tubbs, and married on February 22, 1948. They raised six children, Donald Willard Tubbs spouse Billye, Wenatchee, WA, Christina Ann Gliege spouse Gary, Caldwell, ID, John Ross Tubbs spouse Lori Kelley, Bend, OR, late Patricia Marlene Davis spouse Darwin, French Camp, Susan Catherine Stevenson spouse Craig, French Camp and Willard Joseph Tubbs spouse Caryle, Manteca. Eileen and Willard were blessed with a large family of 15 grand- children, 26 great-grand children, and six great-great- grandchildren.
Over the 72 years of her married life, Eileen was the epitome of an authentic Italian wife, mother and grandmother, devoting all of her days to loving and serving her family. She was known for the delicious Italian meals she would serve around the dinner table. In later years, Willard became the head chef, although everyone knew it was still “Eileen’s Kitchen”. Eileen raised her children with family values, and supported their every endeavor. She always attended her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren activities and sporting events and proudly compiled newspaper articles highlighting their accomplishments.
On Eileen and Willard’s 50th wedding anniversary, the family hosted a formal party at Chez Shari’s at the Manteca Golf Course where the couple was presented with accolades on their many years together from the California State Assembly, Senator Patrick Johnston and Hillary and Bill Clinton. The family then surprised Eileen and Willard with a complete trip to the 1998 Kentucky Derby.
Eileen lived her life for her family, and always took great pride providing warm meals and a welcoming home to all who walked in their front door. She was happy to help raise her many grandchildren and always supported Willard with the family business he started (Tubbs & Sons Electric). Eileen, and her Italian culinary skills will be remembered and missed greatly by all who knew her love.
A private service will be held in Eileen’s honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Remolona Family guest home at 360 Button Ave., Manteca, CA 95336, where she spent her last days and for the great care they gave Mom.
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy, is honored to serve the Tubbs family. An online guest book is available at www.frymemorialchapel.com for condolences and special messages to the family.
