Farhana (Lunat) Rana, 30, beloved wife and daughter, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 21, surrounded by her devoted family. Farhana was born on Jan. 17, 1979 in Modesto and moved to Stockton at a young age. She graduated from Lincoln High School and the University of the Pacific. Three years ago, Farhana got married and moved to Lawrence, MA. However, she returned to Stockton last year after becoming ill.

Farhana was an only child and was a joy to her parents and family. She was a gentle young woman with a carefree spirit and loving soul. Throughout her life, she always had a kind word and sweet smile for those around her. This remained true even as she faced many obstacles during this past year. She showed great courage throughout her illness and preferred to remain positive and be thankful for all the blessings that she had in her life. She became very focused on strengthening her relationship with Allah, the Creator, appreciating her family, and imparting words of wisdom to those around her.

Farhana is survived by her parents, Dr. Moosa and Rabia Lunat of Stockton; her husband, Abid Rana of Lawrence, MA; her grandfather and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Stockton, the U.S., and throughout the world.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Zaytuna College (2070 Allston Way Suite 300, Berkeley, CA 94704) or the American Cancer Society (207 E. Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.)

Farhana will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
