Guadalupe Lopez, 83, entered into rest on Sunday, November 15, in Manteca. She was born in Canutillo Texas, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Guillermo and Josefa Rodriguez on May 30, 1926. She joins her husband in heaven Vicente Lopez, as well as her daughter, Rosa (Lopez) Arechiga and her siblings Guillermo Rodriguez Jr. and Velia Rodriguez. Guadalupe was a resident of Manteca for 15 years.

Mrs. Lopez is survived by her children; Lupita Andrade of Texas, Francisco Lopez of Texas, Juan Lopez of Alameda, Angie (Lopez) Arechiga of Antioch, and Vicente Lopez of Manteca. She has two siblings; Ramon Rodriguez of Texas and Ernestina Rodriguez of Texas. In addition, Guadalupe was blessed by 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Guadalupe was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and also attended Our Lady of Guadalupe of Lathrop. Before moving to Manteca Guadalupe made her home in Oakland with her husband and children for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling and visiting local casinos. Her hobbies included garage-sales, visiting flea markets and shopping in general. Guadalupe was extremely proud about how she enjoyed jet skiing at the young age of 70 years old. She was an amazing cook and was known to her family for her famous homemade tortillas, refried beans, salsa, and her Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing. Guadalupe was at her happiest when helping others. Her heart was content when she gave all that she could to anyone who was in need. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and her good heart. She will be missed.

Mrs. Lopez’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m., both held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road Manteca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 16200 Cambridge Dr., Lathrop. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Oakland, California.
