Hermina Dyk Oosterkamp went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2026, at the age of 100. She was born on March 23, 1926 to William and Anna Dyk in Platte, South Dakota. Hermina was the eldest of three children. She moved to Modesto when she was 21 and worked as a housekeeper. Soon she met Gerrit Oosterkamp and they were married on March 16, 1949, and raised five children on their almond and walnut farm west of Modesto. She also worked for Storer Transportation for over 30 years driving disabled children. In 2007, Gerrit and Hermina moved to the Town Square Apartments in Ripon.
She loved being a homemaker. She was a hard worker and always loved gardening and her flowers. She loved to make things look nice and was efficient in whatever she did. Hermina also volunteered for organizations and was responsible in her duties. Above all she loved others and her Lord. She was a charter member of Zion Reformed Church.
Hermina is survived by her five children: Karan Philipsen (Tim), Beverly Fryer (Alan), Gary Oosterkamp (Kathy), Cheryl Davis (Larry), and Bruce Oosterkamp (Phyllis). She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Hermina was preceded in death by her husband Gerrit of 64 years of marriage, her sister, and her brother.
