Joseph H. Perez, 78, entered into rest peacefully on June 7, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. Joseph joins his daughter in heaven, Emilia Gonzalez.

Mr. Perez is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dora Perez. He has 3 children: Cecil Perez, Valerie Leon, and Linda Hassler. He has 14 grandchildren; Jesus, Jacinta, Margaret, Rebecca, Maria, Joe, Lisa, Brandon, Frank, Mike, Amanda, Angela, Alicia, and Ashley, as well as 21 great-grandchildren. He has 4 siblings: Cecil Perez, Pita Moreno, Jess Perez, and Eloisa Moreno.

Joe was a construction worker by trade and owned his own gardening business. Joseph loved his family as he was proud of each and every one of them. He was an extremely hard-working man always providing for his family. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of San Lorenzo - Hayward. He was also a member of the Eagles of San Lorenzo - Hayward where he was past vice president and past president. He was one of the Eagle’s very best bartenders were he enjoyed socializing with all of the members as he was serving them their drinks.  He enjoyed a great game of Domino’s and loved the challenge of a game of Poker. On the weekends most would find Joe umpiring or coaching a game of baseball for the West Little League in Hayward.

Visitation will be held Friday June 11, 2010 from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a service at noon. Both will be held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery, Manteca. An on-line guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com.
