Martha Benavente-Reyes Santos, born June 2, 1922 in Sumay, Guam, passed away peacefully in her Manteca, CA,  home on May 11, 2013, with loving family and friends at her side.

   Mrs. Santos is preceeded in death by her husband, Jesus Mendiola Santos of Hayward, CA, daughters Anna Camarena of Whitmore, CA, Joan Quichocho of Mangilao, Guam, Valerie Santos of Manteca, CA, and brothers Ricardo Santos of Ordot, Guam, and Jesus Santos and Jose Santos of Dededo, Guam.

She is survived by daughters Tere Santos deRubio of Winchester, VA, Julie Gaines of Manteca, CA, Eloise Santos of San Jose, CA, Mary Ann Guillory of Sacramento, CA, sons Jesse Santos and wife Patty of Manteca, CA, August Santos and wife Sharon of Santa Clara, CA, Leslie Santos and wife Ale of Aloha, OR, Justin Santos and wife Nancy of Portland, OR,  28 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Santos retired from Kaiser Permanente in Hayward, CA. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, oil painting and crochet. She will be missed by her extended family and friends for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. According to Mrs. Santos’ wishes, she will not lie in state, rather cremation will take place.
