Penny O’rill Hermann passed away peacefully at her home in Manteca, California on December 22, 2019 after an aggressive battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 79.  She was born on August 25, 1940 in Tacoma, WA to the late Clinton and Wilma Searles.
   She is survived by her husband, Allen Hermann.  She was blessed with two children, Carrie Hunt (Dane) of Eagle, Idaho and Jeff Hermann of Manteca, CA.
Penny was graced with four granddaughters, Melissa Crank (Zachary), Morgan Wood-Buchanan (Austin), Hallie Hunt and Bailey Hermann.  She is also survived by three great grandsons, Ryder, Carter and Bowdie.
   Penny graduated from Sunnyvale High School in 1959 and it was there she met the love of her  life and husband, Allen Hermann of 58 years.  She was a Nurse at El Camino Hospital in Mt. View, CA for 35 years, leading her to Manteca, CA in 1997 to be closer to her granddaughters and worked at Doctors Hospital, as the Director of Utilization Review and Discharge Planning for 14 years until her retirement in 2011.
   Her passions were family, her two fur daughters, Suzie and Abby, volunteering for the Manteca Soroptimist and Beta Sigma Phi, her Masonic Affiliation with Sunnyvale Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star, the Giants, decorating, being at Lake Don Pedro on their houseboat, the sun and watching The Bachelor on T.V.
   A celebration of life for Penny will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from
12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chez Shari Event Center located at the Manteca Park Golf Course, 305 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA 95336.
