Raquel Macias, 76, entered into rest on February 2, 2010 at her home in Manteca surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1933 in Encarion, DeJalisco, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jose Macias who passed away at a young age in 1974.

Mrs. Macias is survived by her beloved children; Yolanda Perez of Manteca, Rick Macias of Tracy and Rachel Sierra of Manteca. She has 5 grandchildren whom she adored: Joseph Macias, Angela Macias, Dianna Macias, Gabriel Perez and Michael Perez. She was extremely proud to say that she had 7 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Anthony Macias, Jordan Macias, Israel Macias, Alicia Macias, Arrianna Macias, Ricardo Macias, Cecilia Macias and Isabella Sierra.

Raquel moved to Manteca 5 years ago to be closer to family. She was a lifelong resident of Fremont, CA. She retired after 27 years of service from Park Central West in Fremont as a dietary aide. When living in Fremont she was a member of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church. She loved going to the movies, music and keeping her home immaculate. Raquel’s entire day was planned out and around “The Days of Our Lives” she never missed a romantic spectacular episode. Raquel always managed to put family first. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Her devotion and bond to her grandchildren was like no other on earth. Raquel will be remembered for her giving spirit, her kind heart and her gentle nature. Her love and kindness will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Macias’ services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday Feb. 3, 2010) from 2 to 5 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her husband on Friday, Feb. 5,  at Holy Sepulclure in Hayward, Ca.
