Rose Oben, born on February 10, 1956 in Camaroon, Africa, passed away on March 1, 2019 in Manteca, California.
   She is preceded in death by her father Simon Foniber Fobi.
   Mrs. Oben is survived by her mother, Theresia Fobi and her husband, Peter Oben, as well as her children, Fritz Oben, Franklin Oben, Walter Oben and Linda Madu. She was blessed with one granddaughter, Emmanuella Madu. In addition, Rose is survived by her siblings, Agnes Anumudu, William Fobi, Joseph Fobi, Jude Fobi, Emmanuel Fobi, Bernadette Udo and Cathy Talongwa.
Rose was a retired Registered Nurse in Cameroon and she became a Nurse at St. Jude’s in Manteca caring for their residence for over two years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was a part of the Legion of Mary, Catholic Woman Association and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was known as a wonderful mother where she unofficially adopted many children from around the world. She loved dancing, organizing, cooking and traveling. She was looking forward to her upcoming trip to Rome with her mother and sisters. She will be remembered for her huge personality where she was an “open book” always honest, respectful and kind, her generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.
